Tom Gilmore is an FAA-certified remote pilot, and past experienced instrument-rated aviator, and certified flight instructor based in Florida. He has logged thousands of hours in the cockpit and translated that experience into a second discipline: professional drone operations.
His aviation career began the traditional way — student pilot, private certificate, instrument rating, then the CFI. He owned an FAA Approved Flight School in Michigan for 8 years and achieved all his ratings on the GI Bill.
On the photography side, Tom has flown missions for local clients. His work at the House of Refuge, Tuckahoe Mansion, and the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum reflects a consistent standard: technically precise, visually intentional.
As an instructor, Tom authored a 5-star Amazon resource on teaching instrument flying — a book that teaching pilots on a flight instructor provides valuable benefit in lessening hours to achieve an instrument rating. He has retired from his role as a flight instructor, but has been an active FAA 107 Drone Pilot since 2017.
